WBD is pleased to welcome Sean Fitzgerald to its team as the organization’s new communications and marketing manager. His addition to the organization aligns with the retirement of Lance Walter after more than 10 years of distinguished service to WBD.
Sean is an economic developer, entrepreneur and longtime business journalist widely known among lenders and business owners in northeast and northcentral Wisconsin. Boasting nearly 25 years experience as a business journalist, Sean founded New North B2B magazine in 2002 and published the nationally award-winning regional business periodical for 18 years. He was recognized by SBA as its Small Business Journalist of the Year for both Wisconsin and SBA Region 5 during 2004.
During the past five years, Sean has worked in economic development roles in Oshkosh and Wausau, where he’s assisted more than 500 entrepreneurs and business owners to help launch their businesses, secure capital and grow in new markets. Sean is passionate about helping small business owners thrive. He brings that enthusiasm and determination to his role at WBD strengthening its relationships with borrowers, lending partners and the economic development community.
