As one of the most legendary sources of referrals for SBA 504 projects to WBD over the organization’s history, WBD’s leadership bestowed the honor of inducting Patrick Schloss to its Hall of Fame during the meeting of its board of directors in November. Schloss joins eight others who’ve achieved the highest levels of collaboration with WBD, and he becomes the first Hall of Fame inductee who is not a lender with a financial institution.
Schloss, a career economic development professional who serves as economic development executive director for the City of West Allis, referred his first business borrower to WBD in 2003. Since then, Schloss has referred a total of 35 businesses in West Allis to WBD through relationships with local lenders in southeast Wisconsin. Those 35 borrowing deals leveraged a cumulative total project cost of $76.7 million, with the 504 portion of those fixed-rate loans totaling $30.1 million.

“Patrick has been a long-time supporter of WBD and the SBA 504 program,” said WBD CEO Dan Schneider. “Understanding the benefits of the program, he tirelessly promotes the use of SBA 504 financing to bankers and business owners.”
Schloss has served on various WBD committees since 2011. He was later elected to WBD’s board of directors in 2016, most recently leading the board as its chair from 2023 to November 2025.
WBD’s Hall of Fame was established in 2024 and has recognized ELITE lenders who have completed 20 or more SBA 504 projects with WBD.
Congratulations on this special achievement, Patrick. May you have many more 504 referrals to come in the future!
