I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I grew up in Eau Claire, where my family had been since the 1800’s, and graduated from Memorial High School. I was always an active kid, and I loved to be outside doing almost anything. I later developed a passion for music, grew out my hair, picked up a guitar, and made my best attempt at becoming a rock-n-roll deity (much to my parent’s chagrin). Never quite made it, so college was the next best option. My post-secondary education was at The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, where I graduated with degrees in both Finance and Entrepreneurship in 1994.

My banking career began in 1994 when I accepted a position of credit analyst at Bank One in Stevens Point, WI. When I started, I was the only one in the bank with a PC! After honing my credit skills for a few years underwriting commercial real estate, manufacturing, and potato farm/dairy deals, I felt that I was ready for the lending world. Bremer Bank in Siren, WI seemed like the perfect place for me to get started in the spring of 1997; I could work on commercial loans during the day, then be outside in the woods or on the lakes after work. My desire to grow my career in banking soon overrode my secret wish to be a hunting/fishing guide on the side, so in 1998 I was fortunate enough to land a position as AVP of commercial lending at First National Bank – Fox Valley where I grew as a lender for over 5 years, starting first in the Menasha office, then moving to the Neenah location. In 2002, I took on an opportunity to work at what was then Bank of Little Chute (now BLC Community Bank) where I spent nearly 14 years, the last 2 as Senior Lender. At each of my stops, I learned more and more about the banking world, and had the very fortunate opportunity to work with some amazing people, and lots of great clients. During this time, I also had worked on a number of projects with Wisconsin Business Development and had my 10th 504 loan approved in the spring of 2016.

Maybe it’s the Entrepreneurship side of me coming out, but one of my favorite things about my time in banking was working closely with clients to put the sometimes complicated pieces of the puzzle together, come up with a financing structure that would work, and see the light in their eyes when I told them that we were able to help and assist in bringing their dreams to life. It is my desire to continue doing this which has brought me to WBD where I hope to continue my journey of working with great bankers and great clients, to create jobs, grow business, and build communities.

While it never seems that I have any spare time, I continue to enjoy any outdoor related activity. Hunting/fishing and the shooting sports dominate my “open” time, but I also enjoy biking, hiking, skiing, canoeing, kayaking, or just taking walks with my dogs. I recently obtained a German Wirehaired puppy named Maximus (aka Max), and he won’t let me sit still. I have a son (Brandon) and daughter (Madison) that share my outdoor passions (although the IPad/video game world are starting to compete), so I’m fortunate to have company on some of my adventures. I’m also a big fan of the Packers and Badger athletics, so I’m thankful to have a DVR and a cell signal that can reach high up into a tree.
