A team from WBD, Inc. attended the 2025 National Association of Development Companies Spring Summit (May 4-7) getting the latest regulatory updates, networking, and advocating for the SBA 504 Program. The team also spent a day in D.C. on Capitol Hill meeting with the offices of members of Congress from Wisconsin and Minnesota in support of bipartisan legislation (S.1555/H.R.3174), dubbed the Made in America Manufacturing Finance Act.
The legislation raises the loan limit for small business manufacturers to $10 million. The current loan maximum of $5.5 million was set in the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010. Since then, small businesses have faced economic challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, increased commercial real estate costs, sky-rocketing construction costs, and supply chain issues. Increasing the loan limit as proposed in the legislation will empower small manufacturers to scale, strengthen domestic production, and create high-quality jobs. The bill has the support of the chairs of the Small Business Committees in the Senate and House as well as SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler.
