Industry opposition leading to change?
As noted in the WBD Seminar Presentations, SBA’s new standard operating procedure (SOP 50 10 5J) effective January 1, 2018 includes a requirement to screen the available liquid resources of all 10% owners and comment on why those funds are not available for use in the SBA 504 project. SBA now has a notice in clearance to update and clarify this new liquidity review requirement. We expect the new guidance to be available by the end of March. We are hopeful that the review of liquid assets will be modified to apply only to 20% owners and guarantors of the 504 project as well as providing clarity on any upward limits. WBD will share guidance as soon it is available.

The St. Croix Economic Development Corp. named Sky Coat, LLC their “Small Business of the Year” at their Annual Banquet.

Sky Coat, which was started in 2012 by owner Patrick Traynor, provides the application of industrial coatings onto iron, steel, plastic and non-ferrous alloy components in addition to specialized assembly. The company has experienced steady growth since opening.

WBD, partnering with Royal Credit Union, was able to help the company expand into a 46,000 square foot facility in Baldwin, WI “It was a pleasure to work with Patrick to help position the company for growth and continued success.
