Lender Services
For nearly 30 years, WBD has been helping businesses across the state access various government-related loan programs. WBD Lender Services was created to provide assistance to lenders and small businesses in pursuit of alternative financing options. Each of WBD’s eight regional offices are staffed with experienced loan officers and credit analysts, who have an excellent understanding of the financing needs of businesses and current knowledge of available financing options. WBD Lender Services is designed to provide valuable feedback and services, which will ultimately result in sound financial decisions for both the borrower and the lender.
Through WBD Lender Services...
- Lenders will receive “backroom” assistance - which can help leverage their time and resources while reducing risk.
- Borrowers will receive guidance on strengthening their financing request, structuring recommendations that will conserve working capital and promote stability, and services to facilitate accessing appropriate loan programs.
Access WBD Lender Services:
Lenders may contact a WBD staff member for assistance in solving issues related to the Federal, State, and Local financing programs during any phase of a project. Assistance is typically given in the following areas:
- Program Eligibility and Credit Criteria
- Alternative Financing Structures
- Processing Loan Applications
- Loan Closing Procedures
Borrowers can also receive assistance from WBD Staff - either directly or on a “backroom” basis for the lender. These services include:
- Intake Evaluation—Available at no cost to the lender or the borrower. After an initial review of information about the business, its owners, and the proposed project, WBD staff will review the project and identify available financing options. When a proposal does not seem feasible as presented, WBD staff may provide recommendations on how to strengthen the financing request, along with a list of regional technical assistance resources that may be able to provide help.
- Loan Packaging Services—Under a Loan Packaging Agreement, WBD staff are available to assist lenders in packaging loan applications. WBD will be responsible for compiling necessary documentation, completing the Lender’s analysis and other required forms, and assembling the application for lender review and signatures. When the lender submits the application, WBD staff will be available to assist in answering questions from program staff.
