WBD Service Company Training Opportunities Grow
Join us for SBA 7(a) Fundamentals in Eau Claire | New Webinar Scheduled for August

Since launching a new focus on lender training earlier in the year, the team at the WBD Service Company has been working hard to develop and deliver quality, affordable courses aimed at meeting the needs of local financial instituions. The Fundamentals of SBA 7(a) Lending course, the first offering in a growing curriculum, was well received by sold out audiences in the Fox Valley and in Madison.

A third session was added in Eau Claire in September to address demand and help keep the offerings geographically accessible. Space is still available. Sign up below!

WBD will also offer a new webinar in August. This course will go over the changes put in place this year with the updated SBA SOP 50 10 5 (J).

The webinar, presented by WBDSC VP or Training and Development Jeff Sheffler, will be held on August 8 at 1:00 pm and will last no more than 90 minutes. "We are working hard to provide the most up-to-date information and real world examples to help you keep up with the ever-changing SBA in a format that breaks out of the typical power point webinar," explained Sheffler.

Sign up for these trainings today and stay tuned for new opportunities soon!

  Diane Byler to Retire
After helping over 500 businesses, she has nearly as many places left to visit

After 21 fantastic years at WBD, Diane Byler will retire at the end of July. Diane spent her entire WBD career serving south central Wisconsin. "Oh the people I have met — the bankers and the business owners who have made it so fun," explained Diane.

Diane joined WBD (then Wisconsin Business Development) newly married and having just returned from California. "It's sort of like I grew up at WBD and it has been a great place to work. Everyone has always supported me as I have wandered through personal and professional growth and challenges," noted Diane as she reflected on her time in Madison.

Diane has always tried to live by a personal motto "To affect others in a positive way and experience all I can in life." Those who know her will attest that she has done a great job of living up to this statement.

In retirement Diane does not plan to sit still, embarking on a yearlong trip around the world with a number of stops at impactful spiritual destinations. At this point the exact details of the trip are not yet known, but a rigid and overly planned schedule is not in the making. In true Diane fashion she is not sweating the details, confidently exclaiming "Things always work out way better than you imagine."

Diane will be missed at WBD where she helped over 500 504 deals get done. Those deals provided nearly $300 million in 504 loans, supporting projects totaling over $825 million to area businesses. These efforts created/retained nearly 7900 jobs. These are impressive numbers not just in Wisconsin, but on a national scale.

Please join us on July 26th, at the Oaks Golf Course from 4:00 — 6:30 to wish Diane the best of luck in the next phase of her life.
